The wish to speak and understand a foreign language resembles the wish to play a musical instrument: it is a dream which is fervently desired and rarely achieved.

I have studied eight foreign languages:  Spanish, Japanese, French, German, Italian, Arabic, Polish and Chinese.  I have been fluent in all of them, and at present, I am fluent in five.  As I have been a life-long learner, I have collected many different approaches, study strategies and review tactics to make learning effective and amusing.
